Teacher accreditation information sessions

The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) delivers a variety of online and face-to-face information sessions about accreditation, for teachers in NSW.

Proficient Teacher Accreditation (for casual and short-term temporary teachers)

NESA is hosting online and face-to-face information sessions on Proficient Teacher Accreditation throughout 2017.

The one-hour session is only for casual and short-term temporary teachers and will focus on developing an understanding of the requirements for Proficient Teacher Accreditation and providing advice for teachers employed on a casual or short-term temporary basis.

The session will cover five modules:

  • Module 1 - NESA and Proficient Teacher Accreditation
  • Module 2 - The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Module 3 - Roles and Responsibilities
  • Module 4 - Collecting and Annotating Evidence
  • Module 5 - Advice for casual and short-term teachers.

Information sessions for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher candidates

NESA are hosting live online information sessions for Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher candidates throughout 2017. The one hour session will provide information on the requirements for accreditation, The Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, the three sources of evidence, and how the accreditation decision is made.

Sessions start promptly at 4pm.

Maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation as a Casual Teacher

NESA will be hosting a one and a half hour online session for Casual and Short-Term Temporary Teachers who are maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.

The session will focus on developing a stronger understanding of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and providing advice on how casual teachers can maintain accreditation.

Completing Maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation for Casual Teachers will contribute 1 hour and 30 minutes of QTC Registered PD addressing standards descriptors 6.1.2 and 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher accreditation in NSW.
