Grounds for revocation and suspension

NESA may revoke the accreditation of a teacher for misconduct or failing to meet the requirements of the professional teaching standards.

Misconduct includes being:

Failing to meet the professional teaching standards means a teacher has not met the requirements for maintaining accreditation at Proficient, Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher. These levels of accreditation are detailed in the Standards.

Highly Accomplished and Lead Teachers who do not maintain accreditation may return to a lower level of accreditation.
